Croatian Village Sets New Record with Kilometer-Long Strudel Line
A village in Croatia has entered the record books by assembling a line of nearly 9,000 strudels, stretching over three kilometers.
In the small village of Jaškovo, organizers used two tonnes of flour and three tonnes of apples to create the world’s longest strudel line. The pastry-filled desserts followed a traditional regional recipe.
Paulina Sapinska, a representative from Guinness World Records, confirmed the achievement after careful verification. "A total of 8,940 strudels were counted, setting a new world record," she announced.
The line measured 3,136 meters (1.95 miles) in length and was assembled during the village's annual Strudelfest by local volunteers.
"Everyone worked tirelessly," said Monika Ivis, one of many attendees. "The strudels are delicious." The pastries will be distributed to institutions and individuals in need.
Located 66 kilometers southwest of Zagreb, Jaškovo previously held the record a decade ago with a 1,479-meter strudel line. The title was later claimed by the Croatian town of Sisak in 2019, which produced a 1,762-meter line with nearly 6,000 strudels—until this weekend's result.
"Strudel is deeply connected to our heritage," said regional mayor Martina Furdek Hajdin, noting that such events contribute to the area’s growth.
