Wimbledon Begins with a Packed Schedule
The first day of Wimbledon is underway. The sun is shining, the grass is immaculate, and the players are prepared. White uniforms and spectators’ attire are crisp, the ball crews are ready, and the excitement is building as the tournament gets set to begin.
Live play starts at 11am BST on the outer courts, featuring seeded players such as Frances Tiafoe, Daniil Medvedev, Elina Svitolina, and Jeļena Ostapenko, who will face lower-ranked opponents. Later in the day, Australian Open winner Madison Keys and Britain’s Cameron Norrie will begin their matches. The show courts open at 1pm/1.30pm, with Carlos Alcaraz taking on Italy’s Fabio Fognini in the first Centre Court match. World No. 1 Arnya Sabalenka, Emma Raducanu, Alexander Zverev, rising talent João Fonseca, and Taylor Fritz are also set to compete on a busy opening day.
