At least 30 people were killed in a militia drone attack on a shelter for displaced individuals in the besieged city of El Fasher in western Sudan, according to a local activist organization.
The El Fasher Resistance Committee reported that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group targeted the Dar al-Arqam displacement center, located on university grounds.
Bodies are still buried under the debris, the committee stated, calling the incident a "massacre" and urging international intervention.
The RSF has been engaged in conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces since April 2023. Their forces have blockaded El Fasher for over 500 days, leaving many families without food.
The United Nations has labeled the ongoing conflict in Sudan as one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent history, with over 150,000 deaths and more than 14 million people displaced.
Violence has spread across the country, exacerbated by external influences, while global efforts to stop the conflict remain inadequate.
