The prime minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, has submitted her resignation according to ERR.
Kallas is set to take on a significant role as the EU's next high representative for foreign affairs, following Josep Borrell.
Until a successor is elected and sworn in, she will retain her position as prime minister.
Estonian President Alar Karis has accepted Kallas' resignation.
"I thanked her for her service and wish her the best of luck! I am now ready to begin discussions with representatives from all political parties within the Riigikogu to establish a new government," he stated.
