A coalition known as New Popular Front (NFP), which aligns with left-wing ideologies, is forecasted to secure a significant portion of the vote in the upcoming second round of French parliamentary elections. This projection emerged from recent surveys conducted by polling firms on July 7th, indicating that NFP might lead but fall short of obtaining an outright majority in France's lower house of Parliament.
According to a poll by Elabe for BFM TV, the NFP is projected to secure between 175 and 205 parliamentary seats. Another survey carried out by Opinionway on behealf of C News TV suggests that the coalition could potentially win an even larger range of 180 to 210 seats. In both instances, these results indicate a close competition between NFP and President Emmanuel Macron's centrist alliance. Nevertheless, Marine Le Pen's party, National Rally (RN), is positioned as the runner-up in second place in these forecasts.
To achieve a majority within France's lower house of Parliament, known as the National Assembly, 289 seats are required for an absolute majority. These projections set the stage for an anticipated yet unexpected win by NFP while leaving room for further developments in the French political landscape.
