France Team Ready for Physical Challenge Against South Africa
Manae Feleu rejoins the second row to bolster France’s physical presence ahead of the knockout stages. Alongside lock partner Madoussou Fall Raclot, she aims to meet South Africa’s strength head-on.
“We’re not the heaviest side, so we’ll need to stay mobile and keep pushing the entire match,” Feleu said. “The opening 20 to 40 minutes will be intense. We must be strong in defense, in the tackles, and in our attacking plays. There’s no room for relaxation—this is an 80-minute game. Moving them around and creating space will be key.”
Marine Ménager, in excellent form on the wing, could be a decisive factor if she receives sufficient ball in open play.

### Group Stage Finale with Quarterfinal Implications
A packed stadium and ideal conditions set the stage for a promising match, with both France and South Africa already assured of their quarterfinal places. Though their focus may drift toward the next round, this game presents a crucial opportunity to refine tactics ahead of the knockout phase.
France enters as clear favorites, considered among the top contenders alongside England, Canada, and New Zealand. South Africa, fresh from their first-ever win against a top-10 side—a narrow 29-24 victory over Italy—will aim to challenge France’s dominance. By contrast, France comfortably defeated Italy 24-0 in previous encounters.
While South Africa’s physical approach could test France’s resilience, their backline will hope to demonstrate greater versatility beyond sheer power.
The match promises to provide insights into both teams’ preparations, with kickoff scheduled for 4:45 pm BST.
