French teams and BeIN Sports clash over allegations of unauthorized use of Qatar's branding symbol.

The French sports broadcaster beIN Sport has reportedly discussed, through its connections at Ligue 1 clubs' presidents, the potential of having all participating teams display a Qatari emblem on their uniforms during live matches. This proposition is said to be under consideration as part of broader discussions surrounding new television contracts in the league.

A source closely involved with these conversations between beIN Sport and Paris Saint-Germain's leadership denied that such a proposal was formally presented. Meanwhile, Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), which governs Ligue 1, has recently finalized its TV deal with Dailymotion Abu Dhabi Network (Dazn) for rights to broadcast the majority of live games until 2029. The agreement involves a substantial annual fee from beIN Sport and is currently subject to ongoing negotiations due to intricacies in the proposed deal.

Prior agreements between LFP and broadcasters traditionally included revenue components beyond direct TV rights, incorporating sponsorship contributions. However, recent talks have suggested a potential shift toward more direct commercial arrangements for clubs. The prospect of altering player uniform design has been mentioned as causing friction among certain club representatives within the league's decision-making process.
