"García wins stage two in Tour de Femmes while Le Court claims yellow jersey"

Spanish cyclist Mavi García secured a hard-fought win in the challenging second stage of the Tour de France Femmes on Sunday, breaking away in the final stretch to cross the line first in Quimper after a 110.4km route from Brest.

The 41-year-old rider, representing Liv-AlUla-Jayco, made her decisive move with 10km to go, creating a 20-second lead over the chasing group. She maintained her advantage through the steep final climb, finishing three seconds ahead of her rivals.

Lorena Wiebes (Team DSM) took second place in the sprint, while Kim Le Court Pienaar (AG Insurance-Soudal) of Mauritius finished third and claimed the leader’s yellow jersey. Dutch rider Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike), who had worn the jersey after winning the first stage, placed fifth and lost her overall lead to Le Court Pienaar. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot of France finished eighth after another strong performance in the final kilometers.

The decisive climb saw attacks from local favorite Juliette Labous (FDJ-Suez), who led the charge on the second ascent of the Cote du chemin de Troheir. Her teammate Demi Vollering, one of the top contenders, responded with a strong push 5km from the finish, ultimately placing seventh, just behind reigning champion Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon/SRAM).

The race continues on Monday with stage three, which includes rolling terrain before the mountainous stages later in the week.
