Team updates and breaking stories will be included. From 11am, Suzanne Wrack will respond to reader questions in a Q&A session as the Women’s Super League begins.

Women’s Super League

1.30pm: Arsenal vs. London City Lionesses

Rob Smyth will guide our live coverage of this matchup. London City Lionesses, newly promoted and backed by American investor Michele Kang, have strengthened significantly, including the high-profile signing of Grace Geyoro from Paris St-Germain for £1.43m. The team has also welcomed Nikita Parris, Daniëlle van de Donk, and Elena Linari. Suzanne Wrack will report live from the stadium as they take on the reigning Champions League winners.

Formula One

2pm: Italian Grand Prix Qualifying

Lando Norris’s retirement in Zandvoort has left him trailing Oscar Piastri in the championship standings. With McLaren currently dominant, technical issues for his teammate may be Norris’s only chance to close the gap. He is currently 34 points behind Piastri with nine races remaining. Norris was on course for second place in the Netherlands before an engine failure ended his race early. Piastri leads with seven wins, two more than Norris, who has been the only McLaren driver hindered by mechanical problems this season. Billy Munday will provide updates throughout the session, while Giles Richards reports from the track.

Women’s Rugby World Cup

5pm: England vs. Australia

England can secure the top spot in Pool A with a win or draw against Australia, reinforcing their position as tournament favorites. Having already qualified for the quarter-finals following a dominant 69-7 victory over the United States, they are aiming for a 30th consecutive win, matching their longest unbeaten run. Their last loss was in the 2021 World Cup final against New Zealand. England have a perfect record against Australia, including a 42-7 win in October 2023. Niall McVeigh will lead our live coverage, with Sarah Rendell and Andy Bull reporting from the stadium.

World Cup Qualifying

5pm: England vs. Andorra

Thomas Tuchel’s England squad faces Andorra at Villa Park in a qualifier.
