Lewis Hamilton Aims to Rediscover Racing Joy in Second Half of F1 Season
Lewis Hamilton is focused on reigniting his passion for racing in the second half of the Formula One season after concluding the first 14 races on a subdued note.
Speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, the 40-year-old driver expressed his determination to extract the best possible results from the remaining 10 races while also enjoying the process. His move to Ferrari this season has been challenging, but he remains motivated.
“I feel ready to push forward,” he said. “We’re going to work hard, stay focused, adjust our approach, and make sure we enjoy ourselves.”
“This first part of the year has been intense, which hasn’t made it as enjoyable as it could be. We just need to remind ourselves that we love what we do. We’re in this together, and we want to have some fun with it.”
Struggling to match the pace of front-runners, Hamilton has faced difficulties adapting to Ferrari after 12 years with Mercedes. His lowest point came at the Hungarian Grand Prix, but a break allowed him to reset mentally and move past the pressure.
“Racing was always about fun for me,” he said. “If you’re not enjoying what you do, why continue? There’s so much distraction that you can forget what really matters. I just want to get back to that excitement.”

Currently sixth in the championship, Hamilton has gone 16 races without a podium—his longest drought. A disappointing qualifying session in Hungary left him frustrated, even questioning his place at Ferrari. After the race, he hinted at issues behind the scenes but remained hopeful.
At Zandvoort, he emphasized that challenges are nothing new. “I’ve never had it easy—there were always tough moments. I don’t like settling into comfort, which is how things were for a long time before.”
“Joining Ferrari was a bold move, and I still believe in the team’s potential. No success comes without struggles, so I’m ready for it.”
