Israel targets Gaza amid claims of unresolved issues in ceasefire agreement

As the Israel-Gaza conflict continues into its tenth month, airstrikes persist within Gaza Strip on Sunday. The Palestinian region remains heavily impacted by the ongoing war and diplomatic efforts are underway to address these conflicts.

Israel plans to dispatch an envoy in upcoming days for peace talks with Qatari representatives initiated recently in Doha. However, there is a lack of agreement between Hamas and Israel regarding how to secure ceasefire conditions and hostage release deals, according to Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson cited by Agence France-Presse.

The intensity of the conflict in Gaza persists with casualties mounting. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital received bodies from six individuals killed due to Israeli airstrikes, including two children, as reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent on Sunday. Furthermore, an incident at a northern area of Gaza City resulted in fatalities and injuries following another Israeli strike on a residence.

Hamas has shown willingness to engage in discussions regarding the release of Israeli hostages under US proposals, including soldiers and civilians. The group no longer insists on a permanent ceasefire prior to negotiations as per a confidential source speaking with Reuters. This is after initially rejecting such terms for an agreement aimed at concluding the Gaza conflict.

The health ministry of Gaza has reported that since 7 October, there have been approximately 38,098 Palestinian fatalities and 87,705 injuries due to Israel's military offensive in the region.

In a separate note from Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian emerged victorious in the presidential election runoff against hardliner Saeed Jalili, promising foreign relations improvement and relaxation of mandatory headscarf laws amidst ongoing sanctions and protests within the Islamic Republic.

The British Royal Navy's HMS Diamond recently concluded its six-month deployment in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, returning to Portsmouth after undertaking operations to safeguard maritime vessels from attacks by Houthi rebels based in Yemen. The Ministry of Defence reported that the warship successfully neutralized nine drones and a missile threat during its service period spanning 151 days at sea over a total distance traveited close to 44,000 miles (71,000 km).
