Israel's Defense Minister Warns of Intense Strikes on Gaza City
Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, has stated that a severe offensive will target Gaza City later today as military operations intensify in the area.
“Today, a strong offensive will strike the skies of Gaza City,” he wrote in a social media post. “This is a final warning to Hamas: Release the hostages and surrender—or face severe consequences.”
Recent airstrikes and demolitions have heavily damaged multiple buildings in parts of Gaza City, with reports indicating entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble in recent weeks.
Military operations have escalated in recent days, with strikes targeting residential areas ahead of a possible ground incursion.
Residents of Gaza City have been instructed to relocate to the southern part of the territory, despite those areas also facing frequent attacks and severe overcrowding.
As reported by CuriosityNews, tens of thousands have already fled the city amid intensified bombardment. Roads leading south have been filled with displaced families transporting belongings in carts and vehicles.
The city is also experiencing severe food shortages due to restricted aid access. The ongoing military campaign is expected to worsen conditions for civilians and may lead to further mass displacement, particularly affecting vulnerable populations.
