Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry Spotted Dining Together in Montreal
Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry were seen sharing a meal in Montreal earlier this week.
A representative from the restaurant Le Violon confirmed that the former Canadian prime minister and the singer spent approximately two hours there on Monday evening. Images of their meeting, shared by TMZ, led to speculation about their relationship.
Samantha Jin, a communications advisor for the restaurant, mentioned that the pair remained private, with neither staff nor other guests approaching them for photos. “They seemed quite relaxed,” she noted.
Jin added that there were no obvious romantic signals between them, stating, “No visible signs of affection or anything of that nature.”
Reports of the dinner first appeared on TMZ, which showed footage of Trudeau and Perry engaged in lively conversation.
Perry recently ended her long-term relationship with Orlando Bloom and is currently on tour, with upcoming stops in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Toronto.
Trudeau and his former wife, Sophie Grégoire, parted ways in 2023.
During their meal, security monitored the area while the two dined on a selection of dishes, including tuna, beef tartare, lobster, asparagus, and lamb as the main course.
Jin shared that the chef, Danny Smiles, greeted them at their table, and before leaving, they visited the kitchen to thank the staff.
Representatives for Trudeau and Perry did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Trudeau stepped down from his position earlier this year after nearly a decade in office. His father, former prime minister Pierre Trudeau, was unmarried when he first assumed the role and later married at 51 while still in power.
Perry, originally from California, is a Grammy-nominated artist known for shaping pop music in the 2000s. With seven studio albums to her name, including Teenage Dream in 2010, she achieved five chart-topping singles, matching a record previously held by Michael Jackson.
