"Kyiv mayor reports 14 wounded, fires ignited by Russian drone assault"

Kyiv and Russian City Hit by Drone Attacks, Leaving Multiple Injured

At least 14 people were injured in an overnight drone strike on Kyiv, which also damaged railway infrastructure and ignited fires in buildings and vehicles across the city, officials reported. Simultaneously, explosions occurred near Moscow.

This marks the latest in a series of intensified aerial assaults on Kyiv in recent weeks, some of which have been among the deadliest since the conflict began.

Twelve of the wounded were hospitalized, while two received on-site treatment, said Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko in a Telegram post. Damage was reported in six of the city's 10 districts on both sides of the Dnipro River. Falling drone debris caused a medical facility to catch fire in the Holosiivskyi district.

In the Svyatoshynskyi district, drone wreckage ignited a warehouse, sparking two fires, and debris from another drone set vehicles ablaze in the courtyard of a residential building. Fires also erupted in the Solomanskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts following drone strikes.

Residents described hearing explosions and continuous gunfire as air defences attempted to intercept the drones. Footage from local media showed people sheltering in subway stations amid fears of further attacks.

Ukraine’s national railway operator announced that the strikes disrupted infrastructure, leading to train diversions and delays.

Meanwhile, Ukraine carried out a drone strike on Sergiyev Posad near Moscow, injuring at least one person and causing explosions in several areas, according to local authorities. Officials urged residents to stay indoors and avoid recording defense operations.

A separate drone attack in Russia’s Rostov region killed one woman, the acting governor said.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a recent call with Russian President Vladimir Putin yielded no progress in ending the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for discussions with Trump regarding U.S. military aid.

The U.S. decision to pause certain weapons deliveries to Ukraine has raised concerns in Kyiv, with officials warning it could hinder defenses against escalating attacks.
