"Live coverage: Stage 6 of Tour de France 2025 from Bayeux to Vire Normandie"

At 201.5 kilometers, today’s stage six from Bayeux to Vire Normandie is the second longest of this year’s Tour. It’s a challenging route with a total elevation gain of 3,550 meters—more than the third-week stage finishing on Mont Ventoux. Today’s course includes six categorized climbs, all but one ranked as category three, with the final ascent up the Côte de Vaudry being the toughest. The finish is particularly steep, averaging over 10% gradient for 700 meters.

The peloton is set to begin at 12:35 PM CEST (11:35 AM BST), with the expected finish around 5:14 PM CEST (4:14 PM BST).

What can be expected today? A stage like this could suit a strong breakaway. Naturally, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) will be a key contender on the climbs. All eyes will be on Jonas Vingegaard and Visma-Lease a Bike after their disappointing performance in yesterday’s time trial.

Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels) is another rider to watch, having grown up in Normandy and being familiar with the terrain. Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) is also among the top favorites. Feel free to share your predictions and thoughts.
