Wales Fan’s Long Journey Captivates Ahead of Match in Astana
Around a thousand Wales supporters are expected in Astana today, but one fan's extraordinary trip has particularly stood out. John McAllister left his home in Barry over five weeks ago, completing a 5,000-kilometer journey involving 17 train rides and 11 bus trips. Along the way, he attended 11 football matches, an ice hockey game, a heavy metal festival, and even a stranger’s stag party, documenting his travels in a YouTube series.
Craig Bellamy, Wales’ manager, has taken notice and hopes to meet McAllister if arrangements can be made. “We’ve got to see him—it means so much to us,” Bellamy said.

Kieffer Moore and Chris Mepham will each earn their 50th caps for Wales, while Cardiff City’s Dylan Lawlor makes his international debut. Moore, Lawlor, Neco Williams, Liam Cullen, and Josh Sheehan are among five changes from the side that narrowly lost to Belgium.
Kazakhstan Squad Changes
Since their defeat in Cardiff, Kazakhstan has lost captain and goalscorer Askhat Tagybergen, who retired from international duty to allow younger players to step up. Dastan Satpaev, a 17-year-old forward who debuted against Wales, is set to join Chelsea when he turns 18.
