Wales Fan’s Long Journey Captivates Ahead of Match in Astana
Around a thousand Wales supporters are expected in Astana today, but one fan's extraordinary trip has particularly stood out. John McAllister left his home in Barry over five weeks ago, completing a 5,000-kilometer journey involving 17 train rides and 11 bus trips. Along the way, he attended 11 football matches, an ice hockey game, a heavy metal festival, and even a stranger’s stag party, documenting his travels in a YouTube series.
Craig Bellamy, Wales’ manager, has taken notice and hopes to meet McAllister if arrangements can be made. “We’ve got to see him—it means so much to us,” Bellamy said.
