Albanian Ambassador Disputes Farage's Claims as False

The Albanian ambassador to the UK has confronted Nigel Farage, stating that the Reform UK leader spread incorrect information by claiming that one in 50 Albanians in Britain are imprisoned.

“It’s completely false, yet it continues to be repeated by media and politicians,” said Uran Ferizi, the ambassador, during his attendance at Reform UK’s conference. “Official statistics are being misrepresented to make claims that do not reflect reality.”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has previously challenged Farage online over his use of this figure. The Albanian embassy in the UK has also refuted reports that the number of Albanians in the country is 53,000, which was cited as the basis for the claim.

Ferizi said: “I told him it was deeply unfair to continue spreading these falsehoods. They are simply untrue. He seemed receptive when I explained this.”

“I also emphasized that Albanians integrate well into British society—they work hard, learn the language, and respect the country’s customs and laws. He appeared to acknowledge this.”
