Russia Launches Overnight Attacks on Ukraine
Ukrainian officials reported that at least a dozen people were injured following 42 Russian drone strikes overnight, occurring shortly before the two nations agreed to hold further discussions in Istanbul on Wednesday.
The attacks targeted an apartment building in Kramatorsk, as well as locations in Sloviansk, Sumy, and Odesa. "Another night of Russian aggression," officials stated.
"Stronger measures and stricter sanctions are needed to halt these actions. Without intervention, civilians will remain at risk," they added.
In other developments, EU officials gathered in Copenhagen to discuss migration and asylum policies, while southern and eastern Europe faced another intense heatwave, with temperatures in Greece predicted to reach 43 degrees Celsius.
Updates on these events will be provided as they unfold.
