Six Individuals Found Lifeless at Premium Bangkok Resort Under Suspected Poisoning Investigation

Six individuals were discovered deceased within a hotel suite located on the fifth floor of Bangkok's Grand Hyatt Erawan late Tuesday afternoon. The victims, comprising three women and three men from Vietnam with two holding American citizenship, had been presumed dead for over 24 hours at the time of discovery.

A hotel worker found their bodies while entering through a separate door, as reported by Bangkok's Metropolitan Police Bureau Commissioner Thiti Saengsawang. Despite the room being locked from the inside, access was granted to the staff member via this alternate entrance point.

The official cause of death is yet to be established; however, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin suggested that it may involve an unidentified substance consumed by the victims. The hotel food found in the suite remained sealed and appeared intact with six cups used, indicating no clear signs of a criminal act such as robbery or assault were present according to police statements.

A group consisting of seven members was scheduled to stay at this five-star establishment within Bangkok's central business area, yet only half checked in, leaving the whereabouts and status of the missing individual unknown. The hotel is an esteemed location amidst Thailand's efforts to revitalize its tourism sector post pandemic disruption. Prime Minister Srettha has directed all relevant agencies for swift action to mitigate any adverse effects on this critical industry.
