John Isner's record of 214 aces in a single Wimbledon match remains untouched as Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, the Frenchman at an impressive height of 6ft 8in, nearly shattered it during his debut with 51 aces against Sebastian Korda. However, despite reaching double digits in round three and dropping to 10 aces by the end of his last-16 match against Lorenzo Musetti, Perricard ends the tournament with an impressive 115 aces – surpassing Quentin Halys's second place count of 74.
Mpetshi Perricard expressed disinterest in discussing recent French parliamentary elections when approached by journalists at Wimbledon, stating that his focus is solely on the tournament itself.
The Wimbledon compendium offers a wealth of information and trivia about the prestigious tournament, including an annual order of 63,000 tennis balls, sales of over 102,00quads in 2023, and a record-breaking number of strawberries and cream servings sold last year at 253,000. However, the compendium also sheds light on an unusually high number of player withdrawals, with 22 players or partnerships pulling out before matches in just eight days of this year's tournament – including Aryna Sabalenka and Andy Murray alongside Victoria Azarenka.
Furthermore, the All England Club has strengthened its ties to the local football club, AFC Wimbledon, through various collaborations such as joint matches between their staff and players in tennis and football.
