Trump Urges Hamas to Accept 60-Day Ceasefire Deal Agreed by Israel

Ceasefire Negotiations Progress as Israel and Hamas Consider Agreement

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Israel has accepted terms for a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, urging Hamas to agree to the deal before the situation deteriorates further.

Trump shared the update ahead of a planned meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday. Trump has been encouraging both Israeli officials and Hamas to reach an agreement to secure the release of hostages and halt the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“My representatives held extensive discussions with Israeli leaders today regarding Gaza. Israel has consented to the required terms to finalize a 60-day ceasefire, during which efforts will continue to end the war,” Trump said, adding that Qatar and Egypt would present the final proposal.

“I urge Hamas to accept this agreement for the benefit of the region, as future conditions may not improve—they could worsen,” he emphasized.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer visited Washington on Tuesday for talks with senior U.S. officials on the potential ceasefire, Iran, and other pressing matters. Dermer was scheduled to meet with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
