Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, facing pressure from far-right members of his coalition, continues the war in Lebanon, which is hindering peace negotiations. Netanyahu currently trails in the polls ahead of a difficult re-election campaign and has faced no severe reprimands from Washington.
In the UK, Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed deep concern over the renewed violence, emphasizing the necessity for all parties to return to a ceasefire. Starmer highlighted that ongoing negotiations for a lasting peace must be given every chance of success, noting that the conflict is causing significant global impacts, including within the United Kingdom.
In Tehran, Iranian media reported that air defenses intercepted a drone following reports of explosions in the capital. Mohammad Esmaeil Tavakoli, head of Tehran's emergency services, stated there were no casualties and that two explosions are under investigation.
An Israeli military official reported that Iran has launched nearly 30 missiles at Israel since Sunday night, while Houthi rebels in Yemen fired two additional missiles.
Meanwhile, Gaza's health ministry reported that at least nine people were killed and 43 injured in Israeli attacks over the last 24 hours. According to the ministry, 970 people have died since the October 2025 ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Since October 2023, 72,980 people, including many women and children, have been killed in Gaza. This follows the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on southern Israel, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages.
