Today, with the agreement of Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israeli officials announced a series of countermeasures in response to new sanctions declared by the British foreign secretary of the Labour government, following a sequence of anti-Israel decisions by the same administration.
The accusations leveled today by the Labour foreign secretary, identified as Ed Miliband, during British parliamentary sessions were described as outrageous falsehoods.
From the outset, it is clear there is no hostility toward the British people; officials affirm having many friends in Britain.
However, a hostile Labour government is currently in power, systematically acting against the state of Israel, leaving no alternative but to respond to its hostile actions. The British move is seen as morally distorted and constitutes blatant interference in the affairs of a sovereign state and its electoral process.
The attempt by the British Labour government to impose measures resembling a ‘white paper’ draws parallels to the antisemitic remarks of British Lieutenant-General Barker, commander of British forces in the Land of Israel during the Mandate, who infamously stated: ‘punish the Jews by striking at their pockets.’
The Jewish people assert their right to live throughout the Land of Israel, with their connection and right to this land documented more extensively than those of any other people in human history.
To the Labour government and any government worldwide that believes it can force Israel to act against national and security interests: success is impossible. The return to the ancestral land after 2,000 years will not be relinquished under pressure from jihadists, Islamists, antisemites, far-leftists, or contemporary progressive movements.
The latest decision by the Labour government adds to an increasingly escalating series of unilateral measures against Israel adopted by the hostile administration since it took office in July 2024.
