Ukraine’s drone units targeted Russian strategic sites from Saturday through Sunday. Drones struck the Signal radio and electronic warfare facility in the Stavropol region, according to an official from Ukraine’s security service. Two sections of the plant in Stavropol, approximately 540 km from Ukraine’s border, were affected. Online footage showed an explosion followed by thick black smoke rising into the air. The facility was among Russia’s key producers of electronic warfare systems, including radar, navigation devices, and remote-control equipment, the official stated. “Every strike disrupts production and weakens the adversary’s capabilities. These operations will persist.”
Russia’s aviation agency reported another airport closure due to Ukrainian drone strikes. Flights at the Volgograd airport were halted shortly after midnight on Sunday, authorities confirmed. Volgograd serves as the administrative hub for the surrounding region.
In the Volgograd region, Ukrainian drones also struck a railway power supply, local officials reported Sunday. Air raid warnings were issued in multiple areas across western and southern Russia amid reports of drone activity.
Moscow was once again a target, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, while an industrial site in the Penza region southeast of the capital was hit, as noted by Governor Oleg Melnichenko. Two civilians were killed in the Rostov region following Ukrainian drone strikes.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian regions faced heavy rocket and drone attacks. In Dnipro, at least two people died, and five were injured, reported Serhii Lysak, head of the regional administration. A multi-story building and commercial property were damaged in the city, while a shopping center outside Dnipro caught fire.
Sumy also suffered strikes, with three people injured after drones hit a central square and damaged the regional administration building. Kharkiv endured heavy aerial bombardment, with emergency services confirming six wounded, including four rescuers hurt in a subsequent strike targeting responders.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 183 drones and 17 missiles out of the 208 drones and 27 missiles launched by Russia overnight. However, 10 missiles and 25 drones struck nine different locations.
Russian forces reportedly advanced in eastern Ukraine, seizing Zelenyi Hai in Donetsk and Maliivka near the Dnipropetrovsk border, according to Russia’s defense ministry. Ukrainian military officials acknowledged the situation but did not confirm the claims.
