Norris Takes Pole as Title Race Heats Up
Lando Norris secured his strongest qualifying performance of the season, taking pole position ahead of Sunday’s race. The British driver, seen by many as the most likely contender to challenge Max Verstappen, had previously struggled to find his form early in the season while teammate Oscar Piastri emerged as a genuine threat.
Norris’s collision with Piastri in Canada was a low point, but a turnaround may now be underway. Verstappen, frustrated with his performance, will start in seventh. Piastri claimed third on the grid, while Charles Leclerc took second and Lewis Hamilton fourth, giving Ferrari a much-needed boost.
With Silverstone and the midpoint of the season approaching, this race could prove crucial in shaping the championship battle. The event begins at 2pm (BST) at the Red Bull Ring, where high temperatures are expected to add to the intensity.
