"Zelenskyy demands Russia's frozen assets fund Ukraine's recovery, condemns daily attacks as 'terrorism'"

Zelensky Calls for Use of Seized Russian Assets to Reconstruct Ukraine

Zelensky has emphasized that Ukraine’s reconstruction requires a coordinated effort akin to the historic Marshall Plan. "This is something we should develop together," he stated.

He explained that rebuilding Ukraine is not merely an act of aid but an investment, noting, "This effort benefits not just Ukraine but also other nations—their industries, technologies, and employment opportunities. How we restore our country can also advance modernization in infrastructure and manufacturing elsewhere."

Additionally, he urged Europe to firmly agree that frozen Russian assets should be directed toward Ukraine’s recovery. "These assets, not just their profits, must be utilized more actively than they are now to save lives," he said.

Zelensky also echoed a point raised earlier, stressing that only allies—not those supporting Russia’s war efforts—should participate in Ukraine’s economic and technological rebuilding.

Overnight Strikes on Kyiv

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s first lady highlighted the ongoing toll of Russian attacks, noting that recent assaults have caused immense suffering. "When a building is destroyed, more than rubble remains—families endure grief, and countless others live in fear," she said.

She emphasized the importance of placing Ukrainians at the center of reconstruction efforts: "A country without its people is merely a memorial." Citing research, she pointed out the widespread psychological strain, noting that over 80% of Ukrainians are under constant stress, underscoring the need for mental health support.

Poland Stresses Ukraine’s Resilience

Poland’s leader praised Ukraine’s strength and innovation, particularly in defense technologies, stating that "Ukraine is not just a nation in need—it is an inspiration, demonstrating resilience and ingenuity."

He added, "This is a struggle between civilization and brutality." Urging continued solidarity, he concluded, "We cannot be silent while civilians are attacked night after night. Ending this war must remain our shared priority."
