London Mayor Sadiq Khan acknowledged that Andy Burnham had expressed “valid concerns” about Keir Starmer’s leadership.
However, in an LBC interview, Khan suggested only “a small minority” of Labour MPs were dissatisfied.
He stated:
“Andy has raised legitimate issues, and he has the right to do so.”
When asked if Burnham was seeking a leadership challenge, Khan called that “your interpretation.” He added:
“With 400 MPs, it’s natural that some may have reservations. But Labour’s focus in government outweighs these concerns.”
Khan also confirmed he has no plans to pursue another political role.
