An overnight Russian drone attack on Kyiv resulted in three fatalities and numerous injuries, according to the mayor of the Ukrainian capital.
The leader of Kyiv’s military administration reported early Sunday that multiple Russian drones were active over the city and advised residents to stay in shelters.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko later stated that preliminary reports indicated three people had been killed and 27 injured in the strike.
Among the wounded were six children, Klitschko said in a post on Telegram.
He noted that debris from the drones struck a nine-story apartment building in the northeastern Desnyansky district, igniting fires across several floors.
In the same area, fragments damaged another nine-story structure, where five individuals were rescued, he added.
Klitschko also reported that debris hit a 16-story residential building in the northern Obolonsky district, causing damage to one apartment.
The attack followed another series of Russian drone and missile strikes the previous day, which Ukrainian officials said left four dead and roughly 20 injured in Kyiv.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump dismissed the likelihood of a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, stating he would not spend his time on it.
The comments came as Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev held talks with Trump administration officials, including special envoy Steve Witkoff, according to a source familiar with the discussions. The talks were scheduled to resume on Sunday.
