During the event, attended by Labour MP Stella Creasy among others, Kinnock reiterated that courage leads to fortune, especially in new political landscapes. While Keir Starmer had previously indicated a cautious approach towards revisiting Britain's ties with Europe, Kinnock’s remarks underscored the importance of boldly engaging with European partners.
The German ambassador, Miguel Berger, also addressed attendees, highlighting that collaboration with a government accepting EU human rights standards was progressive and welcomed further advocacy from pro-European Labour MPs.
