Palestinian representatives report loss of 16 lives in Gaza after Israeli military action against educational facility, according to Hamas.

The health department of the Hamas-governed area of Gaza reported on Saturday an incident where an Israeli operation resulted in fatalities within a school that was housing displaced individuals.

The health department condemned the actions as heinous, announcing that 50 others were hospitalized from Al-Jawni school situated in Nuseirat's central region after being struck by military action.

No immediate response was provided by the Israeli Defense Forces when approached for comment.

The statement issued by Gaza’s governmental communication office mentioned that approximately 7,000 people were taking refuge at Al-Jawni school during the conflict.

Additionally, emergency medical services reported a separate incident resulting in 10 deaths, including three media personnel, due to an Israeli strike on a domicile within Nuseirat.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced that two of their employees were killed during the military operation at Al-Bureij, which houses one of UNRWA's significant food storage facilities in Gaza.

Gaza Civil Defense representative Mahmud Bassal expressed concern stating, "No location within the Gaza Strip remains untouched."

The conflict initiated with an attack by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7th has led to casualties reaching over a thousand, predominantly civilians, as recorded by AFP based on Israeli data.

Hamas militants also captured hostages; among them are at least 116 individuals currently in Gaza, with the military reporting that some remain unaccounted for and are presumed deceased.
