Swiatek conceded a total of 38 unforced errors during the match. The upset left Swiatek preparing for a last-eight encounter against Jelena Ostapenko. "I totally let her come back into the [match] in the second set," admitted Swiatek, acknowledging that she had made several mistakes and failed to maintain consistency throughout the match. She added, "For sure, she used her chance."
Swiatek's 21-game winning streak came to an end as Putintseva capitalized on her strengthened confidence following successes in Birmingham and Wimbledon. Swiatek struggled to cope with the fast grass surface and maintain her patience, which was evident throughout the tournament.
"My tank of really pushing myself to the limits became suddenly empty," she admitted. "I'm not going to make this mistake again."
While Swiatek may face challenges on a grass court in terms of timing and consistency with her groundstrokes, it should not overshadow Putintseva's remarkable performance in the match. Putintseva showcased impressive speed, precision, and variety throughout the contest, ultimately securing victory against Swiatek.
In contrast to Swiatek's struggle, Elina Svitolina continued her successful run at Wimbledon by defeating Ons Jabeur with a score of 6-1, 7-6 (4). The Ukrainian player displayed confidence and consistency throughout the match. Meanwhile, Elena Rybakina triumphed over Caroline Wozniacki with a clean sweep in straight sets to advance to her fourth consecutive last-eight clash with Anna Kalinskaya.
The women's draw at Wimbledon continues as Danielle Collins rebounded from an early setback against Beatriz Haddad Maia, securing victory 6-4, 6-4 and advancing to the next round.
