"Two severely hurt after car slams into German barn roof"

Car Accident in Northwestern Germany Leaves Several Injured

Authorities in northwestern Germany reported on Sunday that multiple people were hurt after a car left the roadway, struck a seven-year-old boy on a trampoline, and ultimately landed on the side of a barn roof.

According to police, the vehicle first hit a stationary car in Bohmte, plowed through a hedge, and entered a garden where it struck the child.

The car then traveled over uneven terrain, was launched into the air, and crashed into the roof of a nearby barn approximately 3 meters (10 feet) above the ground.

The boy suffered severe injuries, officials confirmed.

The driver, a 42-year-old man whose identity was not disclosed, and his wife sustained serious injuries. Their two sons, aged 11 and 12, along with a 13-year-old passenger, also sustained minor injuries.

Emergency crews, including firefighters, paramedics, and two air ambulances, responded to the scene.

Photos from the location depicted responders cutting through the damaged roof and debris from a playground that the car had torn through. A crane was used to remove the vehicle from the barn, and police took it away for further examination. The incident remains under investigation.
