Police in Germany have taken a 27‑year‑old man into custody after a fatal stabbing of a 31‑year‑old British woman that occurred early Sunday at Rosenheim’s railway station. According to local authorities, the woman was assaulted at the station, transported to a nearby hospital and later succumbed to her injuries.
Federal officers who responded to the scene apprehended the suspect straight away. Officials say the detainee is a German national from the adjacent district of Fürstenfeldbruck and is scheduled to appear before a magistrate on Sunday.
In accordance with German privacy legislation, the names of the victim and the accused have not been disclosed, and investigators continue to examine the facts and possible motive of the incident.
Witnesses are being appealed to come forward, and police are specifically seeking anyone who may have observed a dispute or physical confrontation at the station during the period from Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday.
